It’s that time of year that makes you want to get outside. The colors are changing, its not too hot and there is that excitement of winter just around the corner.
Whether you are new to hiking or a old pro, I want to recommend everyone visit the Mammoth Lakes Trail System website. This site has a lot to offer in the way of hiking and other trail opportunities.
At a first glance visitors to the site are presented with an overview map of the entire trial system. Tabs for Trails, destinations and other activities are situated just above the main map. From this page you can zoom in and out to garner additional detail on possible hikes and trail-heads
Photos are presented with each trail and activity in order to offer a visual representation of what to expect. Surface indicators, mile markers, approximate durations, and difficulty ratings are also available to help with trip planning.
If hiking isn’t your thing you can click on a different activity like fishing or biking, a new trail experience will present itself.
This site is one of many efforts resulting from recreational dollars generated from Measure R.
