Luxury Homes in Mammoth Lakes
When one thinks of quality homes in Mammoth Lakes there are a few pocket developments that come come to mind:
Starwood: In the center of Mammoth Lakes lies this pocket golf course neighborhood consisting of good quality homes. Most of the homes sit on 1/4 to 1/2 acre size lots with views of the Sierra Star Golf Course. Those homes along the outside perimeter of the subdivision are not typically as desirable as locations at the interior, this is attributed to the fact homes along the outside perimeter are not golf frontage and experience noise from nearby streets. Snowcreek Fairway Ranch: At the south end of Mammoth Lakes is another pocket golf course community named “Snowcreek”. This is one of the original estate quality communities of Mammoth Lakes. It has a south facing orientation and excellent views of the Sherwin Mountains. This is also one of the very few gated communities within Mammoth Lakes. The Bluffs: Located above Snowcreek Fairway Ranch is the Bluffs neighborhood, a neighborhood sitting among the remains of historic Mammoth’s Lakes and embraced by pines and undevelopable Forest Service lands. Homes along the perimeter generally have unobstructed mountain views and views of Mammoth Lakes. Most of the homes in The Bluffs are built of premium quality and set the high-end of the sales range for home sales in Mammoth Lakes. The Bluffs is accessed by way of Old Mammoth Road, Fir Street and Le Verne Street, but the Old Mammoth Road is closed during the winter month, prohibiting access to the lakes basin during this time. Juniper Ridge: If you are a skier or snowboarder and appreciate a quality home, then perhaps Juniper Ridge is your neighborhood. Juniper Ridge is located directly on Mammoth Mountain Ski Area’s “Chair 15” ski slope. Ski-in, Ski-out access is available to those homes on the northern edge of the subdivision while interior locations and the homes at the southern edge possess amazing mountain views. Grayhawk: At the western most edge of Mammoth Lakes is Mammoth’s newest luxury home subdivision… Grayhawk. Grayhawk set on the eastern slope of Mammoth Mountain Ski Area and offers incredible views of the Sherwin Mountains, White Mountains and Long Valley. In some cases views can extent 40-50 miles east, beyond Bishop, California. Homes in this neighborhood are custom with unique contemporary mountain designs and attention to detail. Crooked Pines: This small neighborhood lines the western edge of the Sierra Star Master Plan and 4th fairway of the Sierra Star Golf Course. These homes have a tenancy to be very large for Mammoth Lakes and unique in their quality design. Unlike many other luxury homes in Mammoth Lakes, these homes can be rented on a nightly basis allowing guests easy access to golf and access to the Eagle Lodge at Chair 15. Altis: A true ski-in ski-out development located at the edge of Mammoth Mountain Ski Area’s Chair lift 15, this project was originally intended to be completed as attached townhomes. Market conditions demanded a more luxurious and individualized uses and in 2012 the Mammoth Lakes Town Council approved the project to be built-out as 9 single family homes, along with two existing duplex floor plans. This development was initially built as a factional home-ownership project but has since been converted into a whole-ownership product.
